Recently I finished reading the award winning series of books called "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". They are hilarious! The author of the series is Jeff Kinney. The genre is fiction with some realistic parts. Do you know Jeff Kinney has a blog called Diary of Wimpy kid blog.

The common idea in the series is that there is a boy named Greg Heffley who is really wimpy. Wimpy means weak/lazy. His father, Frank, tries to change Greg's wimpy ways, but Greg easily sidesteps his father's efforts. Funny and weird things happens when Greg tries something new and hard, like shaking before the swim race, giving an awkward greeting card to a girl.
Other characters from the books are his two brothers, Rodrick and Manny, his mom, a girl from the classroom, Holly Hills. I like the illustrations in the books and the way the books look. They made the books look like a real diary.
There is a new book coming in the series called Dog Days in Oct'09. I can't wait to read this one. I bet it is going to be good one! I totally recommend these books if you haven't read this yet.
