It's just not fair. No this can't be.
Today was the day I was waiting for, for more than a month. As you guys probably know, I'm a huge Godzilla fan. And today an epic reboot was releasing, Godzilla by director Gareth Edwards. Godzilla fans have been waiting for this amazing movie for 10 years, after Godzilla: Final Wars in 2004. After Rolland Emmerich screwed up Godzilla in 1998, everyone hoped Hollywood wouldn't make another bad movie. This movie was said to be amazing by critics, and I was so excited, I watched trailers every day. Then came the morning. I woke up remembering today was the day. I was going with three other friends. Finally, we left for the theaters.
Today was Staff Learning Day for us, so we went at 11 AM. As it was a weekday, and it was in the morning, the theater wasn't filled. We bought snacks, and sat down to watch the movie. Now I'm not going to give spoilers, so don't worry. The movie was intense, very suspenseful, and the original Godzilla references that would make any Godzilla fan smile. Now comes the sad part.
It had been I think almost an hour and forty minutes into the movie, and the climax had reached its peak. Godzilla roared his awesome roar, and the screen went blank. Everyone thought it was some scene transition and effect, but it stayed like that for almost a minute. We looked back and the projector was off; the lights were off too. First, we thought maybe it was a storm or earthquake that knocked the electricity out. Everyone started leaving, so we left too. We asked a person what happened, all he said was,"I don't know. Godzilla happened!" After all, it was quite ironic. We came outside, and were told there was a power outage due to a fire hazard or something like that, and that the entire mall was affected. The mall was running on backup power. I just couldn't believe it. I waited every day for this day, and boom, I don't get to see like 20 minutes of the remaining movie. Maybe I jinxed it or something, by watching trailers every day. We couldn't refunds either, as the registers weren't working. So we were allowed to get these special tickets that allowed us to go to any other movie any day. Apparently, something like this hasn't happened in more than 6 years. Still kind of shocked that this happened, we left the theaters. Looks like I won't be able to finish my most revered and anticipated movie until it's released on DVD.
Now that's not something you get to experience every day. Well looking on the bright side, at least we get free tickets!
Anyways here's a funny gif to put you in a better mood:
Bye!
