This is the place where I drain my ideas and thoughts from my brain. You can find my artwork, photography, reviews, information of science, and personal events. I am a huge fan of GODZILLA, and love all animals (including humans) and dinosaurs. So, like, yeah...
My Recommended Age Range: ages 10-15 (more than 300 pages, has some violent moments that may
be too disturbing to readers ages 9 below)
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. It is the first book in the Redwall series of 22 books. It is a fantasy fiction book about the "Redwall Abbey" where many mice live in peace. It is settled in the Mossflower woods, and the Redwall Abbey helps anyone in need, and always thinking of the good of each other. But far away, a wicked rat and his evil army is planning to capture the Abbey.
The book may seem kind of childish, and that's what I thought when my friend first showed me it. But it actually is a very intriguing and entertaining book. There are a lot of cliffhangers leaving you wanting to know what happens next. There are also many interesting twists in the plot, making it a very fun and unique book to read. I like the original plot of the book, and how the main character is not one doing everything in the book. What I mean by that is that the main character, a brave young mouse name Matthias, is not the only focus of the book. Matthias is being helped by many new additions to the plot, and the book switches from one setting to another. This gives the reader a steady supply of information from the whole story.
The main events, like battles, are very fun to read, as the author put a lot of detail into them. They were full of action, and some suspense. There almost no inappropriate content; there is some violence and bloodshed. The main character, Matthias, and all other mice from the Abbey give very positive messages on bravery and courage. All together a very well written book; hence the 5 star rating.

Matthias, a young mouse living in Redwall Abbey is dreaming of when he can go on adventures, and be like the brave warrior mouse, Martin. Redwall Abbey is a peaceful community in the Mossflower Woods, and is designed as a refuge place for animals in the forest that are in trouble. But trouble comes to Redwall, as the evil rat, Cluny the Scourge, and his army come, and want the Redwall Abbey for themselves. Redwall gets ready to defend attacks, and are successful for the most part. Matthias' bravery and leadership skills are shown. Matthias always has wanted to find the legendary sword of Martin he Warrior, and comes very close to finding it. Matthias finds out a sparrow tribe has stolen it. Using information from a sparrow that Redwall had captured, Matthias finds the sparrow tribe and enters it. He finds out that the sword is with a giant adder (a type of snake) called Asmodeus. With this information, Matthias tries to escape from the tribe, but is attacked by the sparrow king. The fight ends up with the sparrow king dead. After Matthias recovers, he goes to kill Asmodeus and get the sword. On his way he makes friends with a snowy owl and a cat. Using the help of a band of shrews, he enters the adder's lair, and retrieves the sword. Unfortunately, Asmodeus finds out, and tries to kill Matthias. Matthias succeeds to kill the snake, and rushes back to Redwall with the sword after finding out it is under attack. Meanwhile, Cluny has been trying to enter the Abbey. They try many different ideas, but Redwall successfully defends each time. Cluny then uses a captured dormouse to invade the Abbey, and open it from inside. The mouse successfully opens the Abbey, letting all the evil rats into Redwall, and taking all people in Redwall as prisoners. But Matthias comes to save the day. With the sparrows and shrews on his side, he defeats the whole army of rats. He then kills Cluny, by dropping a huge bell on the rat. The Abbot of Redwall dies, but not before proclaiming Matthias as Warrior of Redwall, and the mouse Brother Alf as the new Abbot.
This is a great book, so don't miss it! Keep the age rating in mind. Happy reading!
